What are essential amino acids?
Essential amino acids are amino acids which our body cannot produce itself and which must be supplied by food and more specifically by supplementation in order to benefit from their many advantages. Among the most popular we can mention BCAAs, so-called branched-chain amino acids consisting of leucine, isoleucine and valine. The latter are highly appreciated and used by athletes and more particularly bodybuilding athletes.
The essential amino acids are 9 in number and are: L-Histidine, lysine, leucine, methionine, isoleucine, phenylalanine, threonine, valine and tryptophan.
