What is citrulline malate?
It citrulline malate is a amino acid non-essential, synthesized from other amino acids. It does not enter directly into the composition of proteins, but its action is purely metabolic. This amino acid increases the supply of nitric oxide (NO) in the blood, which improves muscle congestion. It is even used to produce arginine, which is used to make nitric oxide. For this reason, L-Citrulline is an amino acid present in many pre-workout formulas. Citrulline is found in certain foods such as watermelon, cantaloupe, pumpkin, cucumber, or squash.
In most cases, we find citrulline malate to be more interesting than citrulline alone because it has the capacity to also reach the mitochondria for more energy. Malate and citrulline work synergistically for increased performance and results.
