What is casein?
Casein is a slowly absorbent protein powder , which allows proteins and amino acids to be distributed over a longer period of time, much longer than conventional whey.
Long ignored by protein consumers and athletes, casein protein is now attracting increasing interest due to its much slower assimilation rate than other powdered proteins such as whey. Casein is also extracted from milk and is naturally rich in essential amino acids, especially BCAA and L-glutamine. BCAAs are the so-called essential branched-chain amino acids, compounds of leucine, isoleucine, and valine that cannot be synthesized by the body and must be supplied by food and supplementation.
Thanks to its much slower absorption rate (up to 8 hours) and its remarkable potency, casein protein makes it possible to supply protein to your body for several hours while blocking digestion at the same time. It is therefore ideal during dry periods when going long hours without eating or before sleeping to keep the body in a state of muscle growth overnight.
